Secretary’s Report: Meeting minutes from
October 5, 2004 reviewed. Minutes approved by Bonnie Verhoff and
second by Karen Stelzer.
Treasury Report: See attached report for November
2004. Karen Stelzer made motion for PTO to pay $900 for second session
of Art and Bonnie Verhoff second the motion.
Jama Sumski and Beth Welch requested the PTO to pay $100 for an
in house field trip. The field trip would consist of several animals
(chickens, goats, llamas) brought to the school grounds for the
children to feed and pet. Karen Stelzer made motion for PTO to pay
the expense and second by Brenda Blake.
Old Business:
Spirit Wear was a huge success. Many people have stated that they
would like to place another order and many that didn’t order
would like to order. Will discuss further with Bryan Plantega about
offering a second Spirit Wear sale.
Five boxes of trash bags remain available for purchase.
Music and Chess are paid for through October.
Elementary II is no longer holding Chess Class.
Candle orders are back in. The orders need to be finalized and
sent in to Mona Purkey by Monday November 8, 2004.
Poinsettia order forms will be sent out in children’s folders
on Monday. Lea Shinaver is taking care of the poinsettia orders
this year. Help will be needed to sort and distribute flowers when
they arrive.
New Business:
Discussion was held on opportunities to raise further money for
the PTO. Another garage sale was suggested. Beth Welch agreed to
host the garage sale. Help will be needed to organize and price
items donated. Additional help is needed during the garage sale.
A date will be set for some time in May.
Previously, MSW has offered gift-wrapping at Barnes and Nobles
for a donation. The event has not been profiting and will not be
offered this year.
Discussion was held again on offering a PTO sponsored movie night.
Profit from the movie night would be used to support the PTO. A
teacher needs to be present at the school during movie night. Mary
volunteered to assist and a couple of parents also volunteered to
assist. A date of December 18, 2004 was chosen. Movie night will
be during the day thus offering parents the chance to have three
to four hours of free time.
Pending success, movie night will be discussed at PTO meeting in
January about further PTO sponsored movie nights.
Motion to adjourn by Bonnie Verhoff at 9:10 pm and second by Brenda
Blake.
