PTO Newsletter
November 2006
Dear Montessori School of Westfield Parents,
Wow! What a great 3 months it has been for the PTO! We have many
people to thank, so let’s get started ….….
The Ben & Ari’s Family Fun Night in September was great
fun for children and parents. Our thanks go to the following individuals
for their volunteer time to help make this event run smoothly:
- Bryan & Tina Plantenga
- Rebecca Hargett
- Tammy Green
- Lisa & Bill Demyan
- Rachel Cate
- Sheldon White
MSW started the SCRIPT Program in October. We’ve had many,
many orders just in the month of October alone. A HUGE thank you
to Lisa Demyan for getting this set up for us! And thank you to
those volunteers who are helping Lisa with the sorting and distribution
for SCRIPT.
If you missed it, you’ll want to make sure you try to come
next year!! The Wine Tasting Event in October was one of the best
I’ve been to!! We have many people to thank:
John & Rachel Cate – You two are awesome!! They graciously
opened their home for this event, not to mention, lining up many
silent auction items and an abundance of food and refreshments for
the evening. You were wonderful hosts and I can safely say that
everyone had a great time! Thank you!
o Katy Hites – Katy made some delectable desserts for the
event. All I can say is Yum!!
Jason Hites – Jason is a professional chef & he made
several delicious appetizers for the event. He was also kind enough
to introduce us to Larry Pampel, owner of Whyte Horse Winery, who
graciously let us sample his wines for the evening! If you enjoy
wine and were not able to make it to this event, please consider
visiting Larry’s winery in Monticello, IN. The address is:
4907 Timberlane Ct., Monticello, IN 47960, (574) 583-2345. You won’t
be disappointed!
A special thanks to the following individuals that donated items
for silent auction:
- Wildoats
- Bill & Mary Lyman
- Jayme & Michael Wasserstrom
- Tina Plantenga
- Ann Marie Jun
- 21st Amendment Liquors in Westfield
- And finally thank you to those families that made a donation
to the PTO even though they were not able to make it to the event!
Our next fund raiser will be the Bittersweet Candle Sales. Alison
Garber will be heading up this event. Order forms will go home in
backpacks on Monday, November 6th. This has been a very profitable
and popular fundraiser in the past. If you have not had the opportunity
to see these candles, please stop by the front canopy to see a sample
during our fundraiser. We are asking that all orders be returned
in any PTO folder by Friday, November 17th.
The next PTO/Parent Meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 10th
at 6:30 pm. This will be a PTO Meeting/Movie Night. This is a great
way to participate in the PTO, while your children are having fun
at movie night! Cost per child is $7.00 & pizza slices are a
$1.50 each. Your involvement is very important to the school. The
children benefit greatly from your input. You won’t want to
miss this meeting!
Sincerely,
Montessori School of Westfield
