November Birthdays
Birthdays are very special in Montessori. We create a timeline of your child’s life from birth to their present age with photos from home. Snapshot-sized photos work best for our poster format.
Birthdays will be celebrated at 8:45 a.m. or at 12:30 p.m. on or near your child’s actual birthday.
- Ethan Stanley turns 3 on November 8th.
- Ritvik Mishra turns 5 on November 13th.
- Emily Orme turns 5 on November 20th.
- Brett Barnes turns 5 on November 28th.
- Happy Birthday, Ethan, Ritvik, Emily, and Brett!
Thanksgiving Feast
Every year our class (and every class in the school!) has our own version of Thanksgiving Dinner in the classroom. Each child may invite ONE special person to enjoy the meal with us. Every family is asked to provide a food, beverage, or paper good which your child will choose. Please watch your child’s folder for your invitation. Don’t forget to RSVP on or before Wednesday, November 19th. Thank you!
Classroom Business
- Weekly folders: Folders go home every Monday and are due back every Wednesday. Please have your child hand-carry his/her folder into the classroom. This not only saves us time, but increases your child’s independence and responsibility level.
- School Library books: Each school library book your child brings home should have a “Date Due” card in the book pocket stamped with the date the book should be returned. Please have your child hand-carry his/her school library book into the classroom on or before the due date for return. This saves confusion and increases your child’s independence and responsibility level.
- Clothing: Please dress your child in layers of manageable clothing. Often our classroom temperature differs from that of the basement and hallways. Please check your child’s backpack daily for any wet or soiled clothing to be removed. Also, now would be a good time to exchange warm weather extra clothing for cold weather extra clothing in your child’s backpack. Please make sure all outerwear is clearly labeled with your child’s initials.
- Recess and the weather: We will continue to go outside for recess and walks as long as the weather is clear and not too cold. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather as we do not have extra outerwear for them.
- Delays and Illness: Please review the School Illness Policy and procedures for Snow Days/Delays in your Handbook.
