Dear Montessori Families,

Welcome Spring!!  As we enter into April, I’d like to wish you all a wonderful and safe Spring Break.  I know the children have been very happy to be spending more time outdoors.  We have been re-reviewing playground rules and talking with the children about safety.

We will also be talking with the children about Tornado drills and what to do when they hear the siren go off.  We’ll practice Tornado drills so the classrooms will know how to get to the basement quickly, quietly and safely.  I would encourage you to talk with your children at home about where to go in your house should there be severe weather.

A Montessori Curriculum is based upon the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, a doctor and educator whose research into the ways children learn resulted in the development of the method, which bear her name. (Read More)

Maria Montessori's philosophy began in1907. Her philosophy "Follow The Child" works as well today as it did then.

  • To awaken the child's spirit
  • To guide the child as they develop the kindness, courtesy, and self-discipline to become a leader in society
  • To encourage and facilitate a child's internal desire for independence
  • To guide the intellectual development as the child discovers how to be a lifelong independent learner
